Welcome Science Students, Parents, and Guardians!
This is the place for all of you to come to stay informed about what is happening in Science8, 9 and 10, Physical 20 and 30, Chemistry 20 and 30, Biology 30 and (some years) Career Ed.
Please check the website regularly - especially if you have missed a class - to keep on top of due dates and upcoming assessments. I am hopeful that the information here will be helpful to all of you. Be patient as Mrs. C is working on adding information gradually! We are starting with posting the outcomes and indicators you will be working towards achieving in each subject area.
I am ALWAYS available and willing to help students at noon hours every day - just ask me and we will make arrangements. Never, ever hesitate to seek out help when you are struggling! Don't let small problems grow into a big concern - we can work together to get you on track.
Missed classes:
If you miss a class you need to follow these steps:
1) Ask your classmates what was done and get any notes you may have missed.
2) Come and see me to photocopy notes or explain anything you do not understand. Please come at noon as this allows the time needed to assist you. It is not practical to use class time to do this as it distracts from the rest of the class.
Students who are serious about learning will give up some of their noon hour to get individual help and catch up on any work missed. Individual help to catch up on time missed is not always possible in a class full of other students.
3) Work that is not completed in a timely manner cannot be assessed and this places more emphasis on exams. Strive to complete all work on time as this promotes better learning and provides you with the feedback you need to succeed.
